Cushioning and comfort for trails
If you’re looking for a well-cushioned trail shoe but aren’t willing to compromise on weight or responsiveness, the VJ Ultra is for you. Developed with input from elite runners, the VJ Ultra is, as the name suggests, ideal for longer distances. It’s also a great choice for shorter distances when you want a little extra cushioning and comfort. To ensure exceptional traction, the Superior Contact outsole is made from our famous butyl rubber. The last is a medium+, which is suitable for most runners. The extra room in the toe box gives you a little extra balance and comfort.

Fitlock for the ultimate fit
Innovative system designed to improve the fit of the shoe so that it feels like part of your body. The Fitlock system is integrated into the lace closure and tightens the shoe on the inside and under the arch of your foot.

Durable Mesh Upper with Kevlar
The durable and breathable upper is a mix of Kevlar® fibers and nylon. It excels on the toughest terrain and withstands all conditions.

Phenomenal grip

I have used this shoe for a couple of trail runs on snowy mountain trails in Switzerland this past week, and I am very pleased. The shoe has a bit more toe room than I am used to from previous VJ shoes, which I personally find very pleasant. The fit is good for my foot, I did not notice any sliding or rubbing. The shoe feels light but still has a pleasant amount of suspension. The rubber on the bottom of the shoe is very sticky and therefore gives excellent grip, even in the snow, although for really hard snow and ice you would of course be better off with something with real (steel) spikes. In any case, I am very pleased!

Nice shoe

I was looking for a shoe with enough toe space. Even though I don't have very wide feet. When trying them on in the store this seemed ok and during my first test run of 3 km also. But during the second run blisters started to form on both small toes after 7 km and after 13 km these were quite big.The shoes seem to be too narrow after all and I am very disappointed about this, because otherwise it is a very nice shoe with super grip. But now I will not be able to enjoy them much or they still have to stretch, but I do not expect them to do this.
