In 1933, Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström invented the first liquid-filled compass, which was the starting point for our company. Not only was it the first compass with that technology, it also set a global standard for how navigation equipment works. It was then that Silva as a brand was born. A few years later, in 1935 to be precise, we expanded our scope with a new invention, the Zeiler headlamp.
