Camelbak is a well-known brand and has become synonymous with innovation in the field of hydration.

The Camelbak brand was founded in 1988, when cycling enthusiast Michael Eidson competed in the "Hotter 'N Hell 100" bicycle race in Texas. He found it difficult to stay hydrated during this race, especially with the combination of extreme heat and strenuous exercise. Eidson then came up with the idea of filling an IV bag with water and then putting it in a sock to tie behind his back. He put the hose over his shoulder and secured it with a clothespin. This made it easy for him to drink while cycling, and so the first Camelbak was born.

Eidson quickly realized how much potential his invention had. He developed it into a marketable hydration system. The first Camelbak products were primarily aimed at cyclists, but it wasn't long before the brand expanded its offering to meet the needs of other sports and activities.

During the 1990s, Camelbak expanded its range to include hikers, runners and military personnel. The company introduced several innovations, such as different reservoir sizes, ergonomic backpack designs, and leak-free mouthpieces.

These innovations helped Camelbak grow into a globally renowned brand, recognized for its quality and functionality. Over the years, Camelbak has also focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. Many of their products are made from recycled materials, and the company is committed to responsible manufacturing processes.
