What is USB-C PD?
USB-C Power Delivery (PD) is a protocol that enables fast, flexible, and secure charging. With this technology, various devices can be charged quickly via a common USB-C connection, negotiating the most efficient and safe settings.
How fast is fast?
The Charge PD series uses both USB-C PD and Quick Charge 3.0 protocols.This means that you can charge with a power of up to 18W via the USB-C port and up to 15W via the USB-A port. A standard USB port only delivers 5W, so with our power bank, you can charge about three times faster.
How does charging a laptop differ from a wall outlet?
If your computer is not in use, the Charge PD will charge your laptop's battery as you are used to from a wall outlet. However, if you are using your computer while charging it via the Charge PD, your battery life will be extended, but you may not see the battery icon increase. This is because at 18W, the charging speed is likely equal to your real-time consumption. Wall outlet chargers allow laptops to draw higher amounts of power, so you can fully charge your laptop while using it.
