On the edge of the Strabrechtse Heide lie the Somerense forests with the area around the Keelven. The Keelven area has a beautiful fen landscape.
The fens were formed by the blowing away of the sand. In the fens the water remains thanks to the impermeable layer in the subsoil. The fens are fed exclusively by rainwater.
The participants of this trail will be surprised by the versatility of this special nature reserve. In all seasons there is green to be found and in the summer months many birds come to the many fens.
