What is the all-around shoe of trail running legend Kilian Jornet like in real life?
Table of contents
For a few years now, a new brand has been hitting the trails: NNormal. The trail running brand of perhaps the most famous trail runner ever, Kilian Jornet. Their all-around shoe is the Tomir. It's now at version 2, and we put it through its paces.
The Tomir 2.0 according to NNormal
This is what NNormal itself writes about the Tomir 2.0 or Tomir 02:
Tomir 2.0 is the upgraded version of the Tomir 1.0, our most versatile and comfortable model. This new shoe was born from feedback from the NNormal community and is designed to improve all your trail running and outdoor experiences.
Built stronger
After extensive research, we've developed a shoe that's even more durable, stronger, and more comfortable than the previous version. The key to this improvement lies in the use of new materials in the upper and midsole: 360° nylon thread stitching in the midsole and new non-slip laces.
Walk longer
Thanks to the improved rocker and midsole geometry, the Tomir 2.0 delivers a smoother, less impactful running experience, allowing you to run more comfortably and for longer.
More cushioning
The new supercritical foam composition of the Tomir 2.0 is not only lighter but also increases cushioning and energy efficiency while running. This allows you to run further with less effort.
What's new about this shoe?
The Tomir 2.0 is an improved version of the Tomir 1.0 , with several significant upgrades in sustainability, comfort, and performance. These are the most important innovations:

My experience with the Tomir 02
After six months of intensive use and more than 400 kilometers, including part of the Grizzly 100, it is time for an extensive review of the NNormal Tomir 2.0.
Fit and comfort
The Tomir 2.0 is generally very comfortable and offers a good fit for most runners. However, for ultra-distance runs, I noticed the shoe became a bit too tight in the front. This is mainly due to the available sizes: the jump from size 47 to 48.5 is too large, meaning there's no ideal in-between size for me. This won't be a problem for everyone, but it could be a consideration for runners with larger feet.
Damping and grip
One of the biggest advantages of this shoe is its cushioning. The midsole offers a wonderfully soft yet responsive ride, which is especially beneficial for long distances. The Vibram outsole also provides excellent grip. The 5mm lugs provide excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, from muddy paths to rocky trails. During my runs in Italy, which included elevation gain and varied terrain, the Tomir 2.0 performed exceptionally well.
Sustainability and construction
The shoe's upper feels sturdy and has retained its shape and structure well so far. Even after 400 kilometers, the shoe still looks almost brand new, which seems to confirm NNormal's promise of longevity. This makes the Tomir 2.0 a reliable choice for anyone looking for a durable trail shoe.
Conclusion
The NNormal Tomir 2.0 is a true all-rounder that excels on various surfaces and distances. The combination of comfort, grip, and durability makes it an excellent choice for trail runners seeking versatility. The only caveat is the fit for runners with large feet, where the available sizes aren't always ideal. Nevertheless, the Tomir 2.0 remains a top choice for those looking for a reliable and robust trail shoe.

Outside Online
Outside Online praises the Tomir 2.0's comfortable and well-cushioned midsole. The wide, low-to-the-ground forefoot provides an agile stride, while the wraparound fit provides added stability. One drawback is that the upper feels stiff and bulky at first and requires some break-in time. Outside Online
