About It dune area of Schoorl
The dune area of Schoorl, located in North Holland, is a unique and challenging location for trail running. This area, which includes the highest and widest dunes in the Netherlands, offers a spectacular course for both beginners and advanced trail runners. The routes through the Schoorlse Duinen are characterized by steep climbs and fast descents, which makes for a varied and challenging running experience.
A special feature of the area is the alternation between dense pine forests and open dune landscapes, which allows runners to enjoy various views during their run. The sandy terrain tests the runners' strength and agility, while the sea breeze provides a refreshing touch to the effort.
The Schoorlse Duinen are also ecologically valuable, with diverse flora and fauna that the area is rich in. Runners can enjoy the natural beauty during their run and possibly even spot wildlife such as rabbits and birds. This makes every trail run in the dune area of Schoorl both challenging and inspiring.
