The Boeschoten nature reserve of land manager Staatsbosbeheer is known as Entrance to the Veluwe, here the beginning of the Veluwe unfolds from the West to the East and this area is the scene of the Groot Boeschoten Trail. The forests stretch to Speuld, Huinen and Garderen.
The sheepfolds of Groot- and Klein Boeschoten have been located in this part of the Veluwe since 1800, adjacent to the village of Voorthuizen, from where the Start-Finish is located. We have chosen to use this national monument as a logo for this Trail by Cairn Trails & Adventures. A beautiful story even before the start.
All distances pass this unique natural site. Easily accessible for support and visitors. A care post will be set up right near the sheepfold.
