About the environment
IJzevoorde, located in the Achterhoek near Doetinchem, is a beautiful area for trail running, surrounded by vast meadows, forests and the characteristic coulisse landscape of the region. The area offers quiet and varied paths that meander through dense deciduous forests and open fields, which makes for a unique trail experience. The narrow paths and forest passages alternate with long stretches on country roads surrounded by hedges and fields, typical of the Achterhoek landscape.
In the area around IJzevoorde you will pass charming farms and small streams, such as the Oude IJssel, which meanders through the landscape. The routes offer a perfect mix of flat parts and gentle undulations, which makes it ideal for both quiet, long distances and more intensive training.
