The Hague Dune Trail is organized by Erik, Niels, and Koen. They know each other from running group 1 at Haag Athletics. Niels knows every trail in The Hague (really!), Erik is a fan of the word "gogme," and Koen organizes trails in SwedenWhen the Hague classic Duinstrandloop ceased to exist, the men felt it was time for a new initiative to brave the unpaved paths in The Hague, and to do so for a distance of just over 7.6 kilometers.

About the environment
The region between Alphen and Chaam, located in North Brabant, is an ideal spot for trail running thanks to its diverse landscape of forests, heathlands, and farmland. The area is part of the vast Chaamse Bossen nature reserve, where you can run through a network of narrow paths, dirt roads, and single tracks. These forests offer a sheltered and peaceful environment, perfect for trail runners who want to enjoy nature.
Besides the forests, there are open areas of heathland and grasslands, which offer a beautiful variety, especially in summer. The terrain is gently undulating, creating interesting climbs and descents. The sandy paths and forest floor create a challenging surface suitable for both long distances and technical runs.
Along the way, you'll pass various fens and open spaces where you can enjoy the views and tranquility. The region between Alphen and Chaam offers a varied and natural trail experience, ideal for both beginners and experienced trail runners.
