One shoe for many kinds of trails. The Prodigio 2 feels smooth and responsive without getting mushy. That makes it just as good for an easy long run in the woods as for a fast trail race in the hills.

Comfort that lasts. The cushioning absorbs impact and gives enough rebound to hold your pace. You notice it most in the final hours of a long trail run or ultra, when your legs stay fresher.

Locked in on technical terrain. The wrapping system around the midfoot keeps your foot in place on descents and off-camber paths. The outsole grips well under the forefoot and is more durable at the heel, on rocks, gravel and forest trails.

Yes, the shoe runs slightly small. Most runners go half a size up from their usual running shoe size.

Is the Prodigio 2 suitable for ultras?

Yes. La Sportiva calls it an all-rounder for everything from easy trail runs to long endurance races. The XFlow foam in the midsole and insole gives responsive cushioning over long distances.

Is the Prodigio 2 waterproof?

No, this version has a breathable 3D mesh upper. If you want dry feet on wet trails, choose the Prodigio 2 GTX with a GORE-TEX membrane.

Is the Prodigio 2 suitable for wide feet?

There is no wide version and the toe box is slightly narrow. If you have wide feet, try it on first in our store in Amsterdam.

Degelijke trailschoen, maar minder geschikt voor modder en hiel landers

Goede, degelijke trailschoen. De maatvoering komt overeen met andere EU-maten en de schoen voelt ruim aan in de voorvoet. Het is een prima schoen voor harde ondergronden, maar biedt weinig tot geen grip wanneer het echt modderig wordt.

De demping in de voorvoet is ruim voldoende en voelt comfortabel. In de hiel schiet de demping en het comfort echter tekort, vooral voor een hiel lander. Daardoor is dit achteraf gezien voor mij niet de ideale keuze, omdat de schoen te weinig demping en comfort biedt bij een hiel landing.
