On Sunday 22 December 2024 It's happening again! Already the 11th edition of the beautiful Sint Thomas Trail Run. A running event on the most beautiful trails in the Nieuwehorne area. This year's distances are 8.5 - 14 - 22 and 33 km and 2 and 3 km runs for the youngest children. Whatever distance you choose, these are all beautiful loops through the natural surroundings of the Kiekenberg, the Ketliker Skar, and many other beautiful spots. The start and finish will once again be in the sports hall. Timekeeping will be available. but there will be no awards ceremony.

About the environment
Nieuwehorne, located in Friesland, offers a beautiful and peaceful environment for trail running, surrounded by the typical Frisian landscape of meadows, forests, and waterways. This area combines open plains with sheltered woodlands, making for a varied trail experience. The trails around Nieuwehorne wind through the Koningsdiep nature reserve and the Catspoele, where you'll run through dense forests, past lakes, and along winding sandy paths.
During your run, you'll also pass peat bogs and hedgerows, giving the landscape an authentic, rural feel.
