This beautiful, well-known Holland Dune nature reserve on the North Holland coast offers many opportunities for organizing (ultra)trails. You can explore endlessly between the dunes and along the beach. We've created three different routes for the Holland Dune Trail, all starting from Vrijstaat Nederzandt in Noordwijk.

About the Dutch Dune nature reserve
The Hollands Duin, a vast nature reserve along the Dutch coast, stretches from Wassenaar to Zandvoort. This dune landscape, managed by the Dutch Forestry Commission (Staatsbosbeheer), is one of the greenest areas in the Randstad and a vital natural buffer against the North Sea. It offers a breathtaking combination of rugged dunes, dense forests, open meadows, and diverse flora and fauna.
The diversity of the landscape in the Hollands Duin is remarkable. The high dune ridges offer magnificent views of the sea and the hinterland, while the valleys between the dunes are home to countless bird species and other animals.
