Description

A low sock with proper hiking cushioning. The quarter height sits just over your ankle bone, so the collar of a low shoe doesn't rub on your skin. It feels fuller than a running sock without making your shoe too tight.

Extra protection where shoes start to rub first. The cushioning carries on over the Achilles and the forefoot is reinforced. You notice it most in the second half of a long hike, when your feet swell a little and the shoe moves more.

Torn between this and a taller sock? Pick the 1958 for low shoes and dry routes. If you wear mid or high hiking boots, or walk through mud and undergrowth, a micro crew or boot sock protects your ankle better.

A low all-rounder for long days on foot. If you want it as thin and airy as possible, go for a lightweight sock.
