Description

Dry feet on wet trail days. The Gore-Tex membrane in the upper keeps out rain, puddles and wet grass. The roomy forefoot and secure midfoot keep your foot in place, even after hours on the trail.

Grip on mud, rocks and roots. The tread sheds mud easily and bites well on wet stones and tree roots. Especially in autumn and winter, running through wet heath or over slippery paths, you notice how good it is that your feet stay warm and dry.

Torn between this and the regular Norvan LD 4? Go for the GTX if you often run in the rain, through wet vegetation or in snow. On warm, dry days the version without membrane feels airier, and if water comes in over your ankle, a GTX shoe dries more slowly.

For long trail runs when the weather turns bad.

Arc’teryx is een Canadees merk uit Vancouver dat bekendstaat om technische outdoorkleding. Het is een premium merk: de kleding is licht, comfortabel en gemaakt om urenlang mee op pad te gaan, van lange duurlopen tot ultra’s in de bergen. Je betaalt wat meer, maar je krijgt kwaliteit die je jarenlang gebruikt.

Voor ons is Arc’teryx vooral een betrouwbare keuze voor wie serieus de bergen in gaat: goed doordacht, zorgvuldig afgewerkt en gemaakt om lang mee te gaan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my own insole?

Yes, the insole is removable, so you can replace it with your own (orthotic) insole. Keep in mind that thickness and shape can change the volume in the shoe.

Is the shoe fully waterproof?

The upper is waterproof thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane. If you run through water deeper than your ankle, it can still get in through the opening. A gaiter helps in that case.

Does the Norvan LD 4 GTX run true to size?

It runs about half a size large. Arc'teryx therefore recommends going half a size down from your usual running shoe size.

When should I choose the version without Gore-Tex?

If you mostly run on dry days or in warm weather. The regular Norvan LD 4 breathes better and dries faster if it does get wet.
