Description

A complete fuelling plan for one marathon in one pack. You get 1 x Drink Mix 320 for the day before, 1 x Drink Mix 160 for race morning and 7 gels: 4 x Gel 100 and 3 x Gel 100 Caf 100. No need to do the maths or put it together yourself.

The schedule is simple and fixed. The day before you drink Drink Mix 320, one to four hours before the start Drink Mix 160 and fifteen minutes before the start a Gel 100 Caf 100. During the race you take a gel roughly every 6 kilometres, and especially after 30 kilometres you notice that this steady rhythm keeps your energy up without having to think.

How do I use the pack?

The day before the race you drink Drink Mix 320. One to four hours before the start you take Drink Mix 160 and 15 minutes before the start a Gel 100 Caf 100. During the race you take 6 gels, roughly one every 6 kilometres: 4 x Gel 100 and 2 x Gel 100 Caf 100.

How often do I take a gel for my target time?

Based on 7 gels (175 grams of carbohydrates): sub 2:30 every 20 minutes, sub 3:00 every 25 minutes, sub 3:30 every 30 minutes, sub 4:00 every 35 minutes and sub 4:30 every 40 minutes.

Should I try this in training first?

Yes. Test the gels and drink mix during long runs, so your stomach is used to them before you line up at the start.
