Protective trail clothing: prepared for every scenario

Whether it is pouring, windy, or cooling down: the right protective layer makes the difference between keeping going and giving up. In this collection, you will find everything to protect yourself smartly without compromising on comfort or freedom of movement.

Rain jackets & rain pants (stay dry, keep walking)

Getting wet costs energy and focus. Choose waterproof materials (at least 10K water column) with vents to prevent overheating. Rain pants are ideal for long, wet runs or as mandatory equipment for races—compact to carry and quick to put on.

Windbreakers (ultralight, surprisingly effective)

Wind can cool your body down incredibly fast, even in mild temperatures. A lightweight windbreaker blocks that cold instantly and weighs almost nothing. Perfect for windy mountain ridges or crisp mornings.

Softshells (balance between breathable and protective)

Undecided between a rain jacket and an insulating layer? Softshells offer a strong middle ground: breathable, lightly water-repellent, and comfortable for intense runs in cool weather. Ideal when complete waterproofing isn't necessary.

Down jackets (warmth when it goes quiet)

For breaks, summits, or extremely cold conditions, a down jacket is worth its weight in gold. Lightweight and compact to carry, yet providing maximum warmth when you need it—without getting cold.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need all these layers?
Not always, but a combination of rain and wind protection covers most situations. For cold conditions, add insulation (softshell or down).

What is better: waterproof or breathable?
It depends on the conditions. In the rain, choose waterproof, while in dry cold or during intensive runs, breathability is more important.

Are rain pants really necessary?
For short runs often not, but for long distances, bad weather, or mandatory gear, it is a smart choice.
