About the environment

The Amerongse Berg, located on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, is one of the highest and most challenging trail running locations in the Netherlands. At 69 meters high, this hill is an ideal spot for trail runners who want to train for climbing and descending. The trails are often narrow and wind through dense forests, making for a dynamic and technical running experience.

During a run on the Amerongse Berg, you'll enjoy the diverse landscape of deciduous and coniferous forests, open heathlands, and impressive elevation changes unlike anything else in the country. The climbs are challenging, but the views along the way and at the summit are absolutely worth it.

The soft forest floor and challenging singletrack make it a perfect spot for trail runners looking to improve their technique and strength. The Amerongse Berg offers a challenging and inspiring environment, where both novice and experienced trail runners can fully enjoy the nature and the physical challenge.

Don't forget your obligatory trail cup

A trail cup is increasingly mandatory at trail runs to reduce waste and promote sustainability. By allowing participants to bring their own cup, organizers avoid the use of disposable cups and protect the environment. This aligns with the self-sufficiency inherent in trail running and saves costs.
