Description

Lots of comfort for long days on the trail. The Olympus 6 feels soft and protective, while your toes can move freely in the roomy forefoot. That keeps it comfortable on long trail runs, ultras and day trips in the mountains.

Grip and calm on technical terrain. The Vibram Megagrip outsole holds well on wet rocks, mud and loose paths. You notice this especially in the last hours of a long outing, when your legs get tired and a stable foot landing matters more.

Choose it for distance, not speed. The thick cushioning and wide platform make it less agile on short, fast and technical sections. Looking for lots of ground feel or a light race shoe? Then a more direct model is a better fit.

For long trails where comfort and protection come first, this is a reliable choice.

What is the Olympus 6 made for?

For trail running, long days on the trail and hiking. Lots of cushioning (33 mm stack), zero drop and Vibram Megagrip. It has no waterproof membrane.

Can I attach a gaiter?

Yes, the shoe has a GaiterTrap: a hook-and-loop tab at the heel where you attach a gaiter. Gaiters are sold separately.

What's the difference with the Olympus 7?

The Olympus 7 is the successor. According to Altra, its midsole is 15% lighter and 10% softer, with a softer tongue and an integrated comfort collar. Stack, zero drop and Vibram Megagrip are unchanged.

How does the Olympus 6 fit?

Original FootShape fit: Altra's roomiest toe box, so your toes can spread naturally. It runs slightly small, so Altra recommends going half a size up.

Olympus 6

Voor de ultra's een hele fijne schoen met genoeg demping en comfort. Na meerdere setjes van de Olympus 4 en 5 te hebben versleten is nu de 6 aan de beurt. De eerste kilometers staan er op en het lijkt alsof er kleine aanpassingen gedaan zijn waardoor ze nog iets lekkerder zitten.

Klein minpuntje is de bovenkant, deze sluit niet echt aan op de enkel waardoor er makkelijk wat in de schoenen komt.

Fijne schoenen

De Ultra's zijn fijne schoenen, zitten heerlijk. Ik kocht deze voor een waarschijnlijk natte trail, mijn leren bergschoenen worden dan 'langzaam' nat en 'niet' weer droog. De Ultra's worden nat, maar ook snel weer droog.
