Description

Feels like your trusted stability running shoe, but with grip. The Guide TR builds on the Guide 19 and adds a grippy outsole and a tougher upper for unpaved paths. You can run straight from your front door over the tarmac and into the woods.

Calm and stable, even when you get tired. The broad base and generous cushioning keep your foot neatly centred. You notice it most in the final kilometres of a long run, when your running form starts to fade.

Grip for gravel, forest paths and dry singletrack. The lugs are deep enough for loose gravel and sand, yet flat enough to roll smoothly over tarmac. The mesh upper has extra protection where it takes the most wear.

In doubt? Choose the Guide TR if you want one shoe for road and light trails and like to feel some support. Mostly running mud or technical terrain? Then go for a trail shoe with a more aggressive tread.

Why Saucony?

Many trail runners started out on the road. And chances are they did so in a pair of Sauconys. That's why we think Saucony is such a strong brand for the move to off-road.

With models like the Ride TR and Guide TR you have an ideal shoe for gravel, forest paths and mixed routes. Want to move on to technical trail work afterwards? Then Saucony also has trail shoes like the Xodus and Peregrine that let you take on mud, hills and singletracks with confidence.

At Trail.NL we see Saucony as a brand you can grow with: from your first unpaved kilometres to serious trail adventures. That makes it a logical choice for runners who increasingly want to leave the asphalt.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Guide TR a stability shoe?

Yes. A broad base, raised sidewalls and Saucony's CenterPath technology give your foot extra support. If you run in a stability shoe like the Guide on the road, this is the logical trail version.

Can I run on tarmac with the Guide TR?

Yes. The 3.5 mm lugs are deep enough for gravel and forest paths, yet flat enough to run comfortably on the road.

What's the difference with the Guide TR GTX?

The GTX has a waterproof GORE-TEX upper for wet conditions. The regular Guide TR breathes better and stays cooler, so it's more pleasant on dry and warm days.

Does the Guide TR fit true to size?

It fits true to size with a medium width. Leave about a thumb's width of room for your toes; if you're between sizes, go half a size up.
