A pair of glasses that moves with the light. The Fototec lens gets darker in the sun and lighter in the shade, so you do not have to stop to swap lenses. You notice it right away when you go from dense forest to an open ridge.
The frame wraps around the lens and gives more cover than a rimless model. You notice that on technical descents and narrow forest paths, with flying dirt and low branches.
Not sure? Choose the Moab Fototec if you want one pair for a route with changing light. If you want to decide which lens goes in, the Moab XC with three interchangeable lenses is a better fit.
Handy in changing light, less logical when the whole run is equally bright.
