A light hiking sock that doesn't make your shoe fuller. It's thin and fits snugly, so your shoes fit just like always. Mesh panels on top of the foot let heat out.
Protection at the Achilles. The light cushioning underfoot runs up above the heel, where the collar of a mid shoe starts rubbing first. You notice it most on long climbs in the heat, when your heels would otherwise start to burn.
Pick this one for warm weather and a light pack. The ribbed cuff stays up all day and doesn't sag into your shoe. Want more cushioning or carrying a heavy pack? Go for a midweight sock like the 1974 Number 2.
Light and airy for summer hikes. Not made for cold or tough expeditions.
