Description

Lots of cushioning for long hours on the trail. The shoe feels soft and protective without your toes feeling boxed in. That makes it especially suitable for long training runs, ultra trails and mountain days where comfort matters more than direct ground feel.

Plenty of confidence on technical terrain. On wet rocks, loose ground and steep descents the shoe stays stable and gives lots of grip. Especially when you get tired after hours on your feet, you notice how the combination of cushioning and grip helps you keep moving in control.

Choose it for long distances and rugged terrain. The roomy fit suits runners who appreciate extra toe room during ultras and like a natural foot movement. For fast, short trails or runners who want lots of contact with the ground, it can feel too cushioned and bulky.

What's special about the upper?

It's made of MATRYX: a one-piece woven upper.

What does zero drop mean?

Your heel and forefoot sit at the same height, just like running barefoot. That encourages a midfoot landing. Used to a shoe with more drop? Build up gradually so your calves and Achilles tendons can adapt.

How does the Olympus 275 fit?

Original FootShape fit: Altra's roomiest toe box, so your toes can spread naturally. It runs slightly large: if you're between two sizes, go for the smaller one.

De Olympus

Voor mij inmiddels het 5de paar olympussen. Het blijft voor mij de fijnste schoen. Met het "sokje" scheelt het wel heel veel rommel in je schoen. Op de eerdere modellen gebruik ik gaiters maar bij de 275 is dat niet nodig. Nog een maand om ze in te lopen daarna naar Val D'aran en Montreux.

Comfort en demping van de eerste tot de laatste km

Ik heb afgelopen weekend voor het eerst 25 km gelopen op de Altra Olympus 275 en dat voelde meteen erg goed. De schoen heeft een soort sokgevoel rondom de voet, wat heel prettig en comfortabel zit. De demping is perfect voor dit soort afstanden: voldoende zacht om je benen fris te houden, maar toch stabiel op de trail.
