Description

Provides plenty of room in the forefoot immediately. Especially during longer runs, you notice that your toes can move more naturally, without the shoe feeling flimsy or unstable on rougher terrain.

Feels reliable on a variety of surfaces. The combination of grip, protection, and medium cushioning works well on forest paths, rocky trails, and longer descents where your feet take a bit of a beating.

Comes strongly to the fore during ultras and long hikes. When fatigue sets in or your feet start to swell, the wide fit remains more comfortable than many traditionally shaped trail shoes.

If you are looking for a fast racing shoe with a sleek racing feel, this is not the best choice. However, for comfort, room, and long days outdoors, it is.

Great if you're coming from barefoot.

After 15 years of barefoot running with and without shoes, I was looking for some cushioning on the trails. And these shoes do that perfectly. Of course, it feels a bit strange if you are used to 5mm without cushioning, but with 0 drop, you get used to it quickly. The shoe fits snugly and envelopingly, and offers super grip with this Vibram sole. Highly recommended. Another plus is that it is very wide at the front (wide model), allowing you to run well even with a wide forefoot.

Nice shoe for thru-hikers

Wonderful shoes for long-distance walks. Nice and light with excellent grip. Plenty of room for your toes and ideal for use with gaiters.

I had model 4 and model 5 before this... this 8+ is an improvement - better sole and better upper material!

i have tried all versions starting from 3.5. this is one of the best IMO, maybe together with ver4, in terms of width of the toe box area (main purpose we are bying Altra :-) Also Length is true to size
