Description

A light rain pant you fold away when the sun comes out. The Pertex Shield fabric keeps rain and wind out, while you don't sit in your own sweat as you move. You only pull it out when the sky closes in and then pack it small again in your backpack.

Quick on and off, even with your shoes on. The half-length zips on the sides let you pull the pants over your shoes and your regular trousers. You notice this most when a shower breaks loose and you don't feel like taking your shoes off on a wet slope.

Adjustable and made for long days. The elastic waistband with drawcord holds the pants in place on your hips, and the offset seams are meant for comfort and durability. That helps after hours of walking, when you get tired and the pants need to stay put.

Frequently asked questions

Are these pants really waterproof?

Yes. The Pertex Shield 2.5-layer fabric has a water column of 20,000 mm and the seams are taped. They are made for rain while hiking and trekking, not for days of heavy weather.

Can I put them on with my shoes on?

Yes. The side zips run about halfway up the leg, so you can pull the pants on over your shoes and your regular trousers.

Which leg length should I choose?

You can choose from three lengths: Short (inseam 76 cm), Regular (81 cm) and Long (86 cm). The inseam is the same for every size, only the waist differs.

Are these pants PFAS-free?

Montane states that no PFAS are intentionally used. The fabric has a fluorocarbon-free polyurethane membrane.
