Description

Weight split between front and back. The lamp housing up front is small, the battery sits in a box at the back of your head. That means less bounce when you run hard downhill and little pressure on your forehead. The battery box has a red rear light, so you're more visible on road sections and at crossings.

White and neutral light for every situation. The cool white light lets you see far ahead on descents, the neutral light gives more contrast in fog and rain. On technical terrain you switch both on for maximum visibility. Especially late in an ultra, when you're tired and your steps get less sure, you notice how much calm that extra brightness gives.

Built for long nights. On a middle setting you get through a whole night, and you swap the battery for a spare on the go. Charging is via USB-C on the battery box, even while the lamp is on, for example with a power bank in your vest.

Want a lamp you forget about during long night sections? Choose this one. Looking for something small for short loops? Then a compact lamp is more comfortable.

Why Fenix?

It's half past five, still dark, and the first kilometres follow a narrow forest trail. That's not the moment to think about your lamp: it has to be bright enough and last the whole run. That's exactly why we carry Fenix at Trail.NL.

Fenix makes rugged headlamps with plenty of light and modes that are easy to operate, even with cold hands. Many models have a swappable battery, so with a spare in your vest you get through the night of an ultra. The range goes from a light lamp for evening runs to a powerful lamp for technical mountain trails.

For us, Fenix is above all a reliable choice: plenty of light, long burn time and built tough for rain, cold and a drop on the rocks.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the battery at the back?

The 4,000 mAh 18650 battery sits in a separate box at the back of the headband. That spreads the weight over your head and keeps the housing up front small. The battery box also has a red light that burns constantly or flashes.

How long does the HP12R-T last?

According to Fenix: 4 hours 40 minutes at 1,300 lumens (both lights together), 5 hours at 1,000 lumens, over 16 hours at 350 lumens and up to 310 hours on the lowest setting. If the lamp gets too hot, it automatically steps down.

Is the HP12R-T waterproof?

It's IP66: dust-tight and resistant to heavy rain and splashing, but not for submersion. It survives a 2-metre drop.

Can I wash the headband?

Yes. The perforated, reflective headband is removable and washable.

Zeer veel licht

Zeer veel licht, mooi dat er ook een rood 'achterlicht' op de hoofdband zit. Wel wat zwaar qua gewicht.
