Description

Light, springy and built for pace. The rockered sole rolls you smoothly from landing to toe-off, so it's easier to pick up speed and hold it. The carbon plate in the midsole gives a stable, direct feel on uneven paths.

At its best in races on runnable trails. Think of a trail race in the Ardennes, an ultra on wide mountain paths or a fast long run on the Veluwe. In the second half of a long race you feel the difference: the cushioning stays lively and your legs feel less heavy.

Not sure? Look at terrain and pace. On steep, technical descents and rocky paths a lower, more stable shoe feels more secure, and if you mostly run easy, you won't get much out of its fast character. The fit is narrow in the forefoot, so if you have wide feet, try it on first.

Arc’teryx is een Canadees merk uit Vancouver dat bekendstaat om technische outdoorkleding. Het is een premium merk: de kleding is licht, comfortabel en gemaakt om urenlang mee op pad te gaan, van lange duurlopen tot ultra’s in de bergen. Je betaalt wat meer, maar je krijgt kwaliteit die je jarenlang gebruikt.

Voor ons is Arc’teryx vooral een betrouwbare keuze voor wie serieus de bergen in gaat: goed doordacht, zorgvuldig afgewerkt en gemaakt om lang mee te gaan.

Can I use my own insole?

Yes, the insole is removable, so you can replace it with your own (orthotic) insole. Keep in mind that thickness and shape can change the volume in the shoe.

Does the Sylan 2 have a carbon plate?

Yes, there's a carbon plate in the midsole. It adds stability and a direct toe-off on runnable trails.

How does it fit?

Snug around the midfoot and fairly narrow up front. If you have wide feet, try it on in the store first.

What's the difference with the Norvan LD 4?

The Sylan 2 is lighter and faster, with a carbon plate and a rockered sole for racing. The Norvan LD 4 is roomier and focused on comfort on long, easy trail days.
