Description

Dry feet on wet days. The Ultraventure 5 GTX is the waterproof version of the Ultraventure 5, with a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane. After an hour through puddles and wet grass you notice the difference: your feet stay dry, where they would already be soaked in a regular trail shoe.

Lots of cushioning for long miles. The thick ZipFoam midsole absorbs the impact on long runs and hikes on mixed terrain. The Vibram Megagrip outsole grips on wet stones, roots and gravel; in deep mud the tread falls short.

Warmer than the regular version. Because of the membrane the shoe breathes less, so in summer your feet get warm faster. The toe box is roomy, the midfoot and heel fit snugly, and with the gaiter system you also keep out sand and small stones. If you mostly run in dry weather, choose the regular Ultraventure 5.

Choose it for wet seasons and long, easy miles.

Is the Ultraventure 5 GTX waterproof?

Yes. Thanks to the GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane your feet stay dry in puddles, wet grass and rain.

What is the difference with the regular Ultraventure 5?

The same midsole, stack (35/30 mm) and 5 mm drop, but with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane. That makes it slightly heavier (about 315 grams in men's US 9) and warmer.

Does the Ultraventure 5 GTX have a rock plate?

No. The protection comes from the thick ZipFoam midsole; on very rocky trails you therefore feel sharp stones more.

How does the Ultraventure 5 GTX fit?

It fits true to size: take your usual running shoe size. The toe box is roomy and the midfoot and heel fit snugly.
