At one of the most beautiful locations on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, with start and finish at the historic Maarten Maartenshuis on the estate.

About the environment
The area around Doorn is a beautiful location for trail running, in the middle of the vast forests of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. This area is characterized by rolling hills, dense forests and historic estates. The variety in the landscape makes for a challenging running experience, where you run over narrow forest paths and sandy paths, sometimes even over the moraines that were formed by glaciers thousands of years ago.
During a trail run in the area around Doorn you will pass impressive beech avenues, open heathlands and idyllic vistas over the rolling landscape. The climb to the famous Kaapse Bossen and the lookout tower offers a nice physical challenge, with a spectacular view of the area as a reward. The combination of hills and flat parts makes this area perfect for both technical training and quiet, recreational runs. The rich history and untouched nature around Doorn make it an ideal place for trail runners who love variety and adventure.
