We (Stichting Team90) raise money for the care of people with cancer, often in the last phase of their lives, by organizing our RopaTrail Ermelo.
Ermelo is already the fifth RopaTrail that we organize as Team90.
Be surprised by the varied landscape and join us!
The Ermelosche heide is an area of over 380 hectares located between Staverden and Ermelo. The area is part of the moraine massif of the Veluwe.
On the heath lie dozens of burial mounds that are thousands of years old. They can be recognized as slight elevations in the landscape. The “start to trail” route runs along the rampart and moat of a Roman Mars camp. This is the northernmost Mars camp built by the Romans in the Netherlands.
The heathland is grazed by the sheep of Stichting Schapedrift. In February it is lambing season. The lambs can be admired in the sheepfold at the visitors centre (open until 16:00)
We use the principle of “social trail” for all our trails with guidance in 2 pace groups. In practice, we sometimes split up further along the way so that you can always walk at a pace that suits you.
At the end of the trail a delicious trail banquet will be waiting for you so that you can return home tired but satisfied.
For the 24 km there is after the 1th loop a supply to replenish the reserves and the 2the to be able to continue loop.
Starting location: Parking lot Ermelosche Heide, Postweg 50
The car park is located past the Schaapskooi, after the bend to the right.
The parking lot is ONLY accessible via the Drieërweg, Ermelo. The Postweg is a side road (dirt road) of the Drieërweg. Follow the brown signs “schaapskooi”.
