Perpetuum 2.0 meets your body's energy needs when exercising lasts longer than three hours. The unique blend and precise proportions of complex carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats, and important supporting NutritionSubstances ensure that you remain strong and stable from start to finish.

Thoroughly tested and proven in the world's toughest events since 2002, Perpetuem 2.0 has been vastly improved by replacing corn maltodextrin with tapioca maltodextrin. The names may sound similar, but these two carbohydrates are miles apart! With much less processing, no GMO content, lower amounts of sodium and higher amounts of naturally occurring potassium, a more alkaline pH, and lower mono- and disaccharide content/much higher percentage of polysaccharide content (thanks to the lower Dextrose Equivalent), tapioca is the sugar and corn alternative we have been waiting for for years and is now finally here!

Whether you have been using Perpetuem for 20 years or are thinking of trying it for the first time, you will be impressed by this 2.0 version, guaranteed!

The Caffé Latte flavor contains 30 mg of caffeine per serving.

WHY DID YOU SWITCH TO A TAPIOCA-DERIVED MALTODEXTRIN?

Our carbohydrate-containing fuels used corn maltodextrin (complex carbohydrates), which was actually a very good maltodextrin. However, we discovered that tapioca (cassava root)-derived maltodextrin offers the following advantages over corn-derived maltodextrin, and therefore we switched:

Tapioca requires much less processing than corn.

Unlike corn, tapioca naturally contains no GMO content, so although all corn-derived maltodextrin we used in our products tested 0 ppb for GMOs, tapioca saves us that trouble.

Tapioca maltodextrin naturally has lower amounts of sodium and higher amounts of naturally occurring potassium. Since most people already consume too much sodium, having more potassium and less sodium is certainly a plus.

Tapioca maltodextrin has a more alkaline pH than corn-derived maltodextrin. Since we athletes are "acid-producing machines" during exercise, a more alkaline pH is a highly desirable characteristic/benefit during sports.

Tapioca maltodextrin has a lower Dextrose Equivalent (DE), which means lower mono and disaccharide (short-chain sugar) content, and a much higher percentage of polysaccharide (complex carb) content--in essence, a more “complex” complex carbohydrate--for even longer-lasting energy and endurance.

Tapioca maltodextrin has a lower Dextrose Equivalent (DE), which means it has lower mono- and disaccharide (short-chain sugar) content.

  • Do your performances last less than 2 hours? We recommend that you instead HEED Electrolyte Sports Drink to use.
  • Do you prefer gels to powder? We advise you to Hammer Energy Gel to take.
  • Prefer solid carbohydrates? We recommend that you Hammer Energy Bar to take.

What is Maltodextrin?

Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate that is ideal for providing fast-acting, long-lasting energy during exercise. It offers stable and reliable energy (no sugar crash) and gives you the constant and consistent energy release you need while cycling or running. That is why it is one of the main ingredients of Perpetuem Sports Drink.

Sports Drink Powder with 8:1 complex carbohydrates to proteins

Perpetuem goes beyond mere hydration. The unique blend and precise proportions of important aidsNutritionSubstances, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and proteins ensure that you remain strong and stable from the start to the end of your competition. User manual

  • Mix with water and drink during exercise.
  • Use during activities lasting longer than 2-3 hours.

NB: 1 serving does not equal 1 scoop.

Check the table below to see how many scoops/calories of this product you need for your body weight. For example, if you weigh between 55-70 kg, you should take one scoop per hour. If you exercise for 4 hours, this means you need 4 - 6 scoops of Perpetuem.

These are estimated doses. Every athlete must determine their personal optimum during training under various conditions.

Consuming more calories than you need can cause nausea and stomach pain.

Keep our motto in mind: Less is Best!

Suppose you weigh between 55-70 kg. That means you need approximately 90-135 kcal per hour. If you want to mix Energy Gel with HEED, for example, you can get 80 calories from an Energy Gel and 40 from HEED.

You still get the right amount of calories you need, about 90-135 kcal, but you use different fuels. If you mix, do not exceed your recommended calories per hour. Too many calories can damage your stomach.

1 scoop is approximately 90 calories.

Important information about spoilage

Due to potential spoilage issues, Perpetuem cannot be pre-mixed and stored for a few hours in warm weather.

Neither Perpetuem nor Sustained Energy contains artificial preservatives because such agents offer no benefits for athletic performance or general health.

As a result, the protein component in both Perpetuem and Sustained Energy—once mixed in the solution—is affected in the following ways:

  • At some point, it will turn sour and no longer be suitable for consumption.
  • It tends to separate after a few hours and can settle at the bottom of a bottle or the bladder of a hydration pack.

We are of the opinion that the absence of artificial preservatives in our products is far more important than these two inconveniences; however, these are factors that you must take into account when using Perpetuem or Sustained Energy to take.

Sports Drink Bottle Preparation Tips:

The sports drink bottle for 1 hour

Mix the recommended amount of Perpetuem for your body weight (see the table above) in 475 - 825 ml of water. Consume one bottle per hour.

This method is ideal for training or a competition with a support team and vehicle. If you do not have a support team but still want to use this option to mix, keep in mind that this is naturally less convenient, as you will have to stop more often to mix your energy powders.

Moreover, because you are trying to meet both hydration and calorie requirements from a single source, you have a limited ability to adjust one without affecting the other; you may need to consume extra water to meet your hydration needs.

The sports drink bottle for a few hours

This is by far the most convenient way to maintain your energy levels while exercising. It allows you to be self-sufficient for many hours, requiring only extra clean water along the way. The only limitation is how many scoops fit in a bottle. Determine the correct number of scoops per hour by experimenting with the numbers in the dosage table.

Let's say that through testing you have determined that 1.5 scoops of Perpetuem per hour is your ideal calorie intake. For a 4-hour workout, you need (4 x 1.5 =) six scoops in a bottle, filled with water and then shaken. You may need to add a few scoops at a time to mix everything well. Then, take small sips every 15-20 minutes. At this concentration, the water you used for this sports drink does not contribute to your fluid requirements.

To meet your fluid needs, you will need a second and possibly even a third bottle filled with plain water. You can also use a hydration system or points along the route where you can refill your bottle. Drink 475 to 825 ml of water per hour, depending on the temperature/humidity and your exertion level. As long as you can get water along the way, you will be prepared for hours of hard training this way.

Tips for preparing gel or paste

If you want to pack the maximum number of calories into the smallest space, making a thick mix is the best option. Perpetuem can be made into a super-concentrated, almost paste-like consistency, and you can take it with you in a Hammer Gel Flask.

Using a blender or a bowl and spoon, mix the powder balls with a small amount of water, gradually adding water as needed to achieve the desired consistency. If you are using one of the flavored Perpetuems, remember that the heavier and more concentrated you mix it, the sweeter and stronger the flavor will become.

You can also add Hammer Gel or HEED for flavor if desired. Depending on how many scoops you need per hour and how concentrated the mix is, each bottle of Perpetuem can provide you with fuel for 2-4 hours. Just like with the bottle you use for a few hours, bring extra bottles of water or use a hydration system to meet your fluid needs.
