The stream AA rises between the villages of Ravels and Eel, both of which are located south of the border village of Poppel. It meanders through the countryside past the village of Poppel towards the estate of Gorp en Roovert where it then crosses the border. Past Poppel the stream is also called the Rovertsche Leij.
The first few kilometres you walk along the stream through the countryside towards the forests. Once we cross the Dutch border the route runs through various nature reserves.
It is a flat trail and is suitable for both advanced and less experienced trail runners.

About the Rovertsche Leij
The Rovertsche Leij is a beautiful nature reserve, perfect for a challenging trail run. Situated on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium, the Rovertsche Leij meanders through a varied landscape of deciduous forests, heathlands and grasslands. This area offers a variety of paths, from narrow, winding forest paths to wider, open areas, where natural beauty surrounds you.
During the trail run you will get to know the rich animal life; with a bit of luck you will spot deer, hares or one of the many bird species that have their home here. The route takes you along the peaceful banks of the Rovertsche Leij, over small bridges and through shady parts of the forest, where the sun's rays play through the canopy.
This trail run is not only a physical challenge, but also a sensory experience. The fresh smell of the forest, the sound of running water and the beautiful views make this run an unforgettable experience in nature.
