Expensive, fine rocket fuel without any special features

It is nice that Naak now also has a high-carb line with a 2:1 glucose-fructose ratio. Otherwise, it is not a remarkable sports drink: the clear liquid bears little resemblance to Naak's characteristic Ultra Energy drink mix, which also contains a little protein. The fact that it is tasteless does make it easy to drink, even after quite a few hours. Now that the UTMB World Series – sponsored by Naak – seems to be switching to Boost for the next two years, it is nice to be able to practice with this. However, for what you get, it is a fairly expensive sports drink.

'Salted Cucumber' approved

I tried the 'Salted Cucumber'. A bit skeptical beforehand, because cucumber as a drink...meh! But, pleasantly surprised. This is actually very tasty. Freshly sweet, slightly acidic, briny, and a bit oily. I couldn't help but think I was describing a good Chardonnay.

It's just really nice that it's not sickly sweet. Despite the decent amount of salt in it, it is very flavorful!

I would recommend it for longer runs where you want to vary the taste, or if you simply don't have a sweet tooth.

In my case, I absorb the Boost Drink better than the Ultra Energy, although I really appreciate the Watermelon in terms of taste!

A real boost

Lots of calories in half a liter, good “taste”, goes down well. I’m a fan!
