The VJ XTRM2 comes with a fresh new look and a range of new features that make the shoe even better than its popular predecessor, the VJ XTRM. The VJ XTRM was designed to perform over mid-distance races in extreme conditions and the new VJ XTRM2 is no exception.
The XTRM2’s heel counter has been redesigned, and the slightly rounded toe box gives the toes more room to spread and move, increasing comfort over longer distances. The XTRM2’s highly responsive CMEVA midsole features a rock plate that protects the foot from sharp rocks and branches and makes the shoe torsionally stiff. The XTRM2’s new racing tongue is attached on both sides, preventing the tongue from shifting during performance. The new, lighter Fitlock system locks the foot down from the arch and ensures an optimal fit with the laces. The new soft heel counter conforms perfectly to the heel and reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon. Special traction textile in the heel area ensures that the heel does not move or slip during performance.
To make the shoe durable in the hardest and most demanding conditions, the upper of the XTRM2 is made of Swiss Schoeller Keprotec® material, which is incredibly durable and protects the foot from scratches. The sturdy upper and the new, lighter Fitlock system provide an optimal fit of the shoe that is maintained throughout the performance. The shoe is very light (250g UK8) and to ensure that the lightness is maintained during performance, the upper does not absorb moisture. The upper material is bluesign® certified, which means that only the most sustainable and responsible production methods and materials have been used in the production of the upper.
The XTRM2’s new outsole pattern is designed to deliver best-in-class grip on hard, variable terrain. The specialized rubber of the Superior Contact outsole delivers phenomenal grip on hard and wet surfaces, while the 6mm lugs provide excellent traction on softer terrain. The upper of the VJ XTRM2 is made of extremely durable Swiss Schoeller Keprotec® material. The upper is firm yet conforms perfectly to the foot. It doesn’t absorb moisture, keeping the shoe lightweight and maintaining its precise fit throughout the entire performance.
VJ's innovative Fitlock system provides an optimal fit by locking the foot down from the arch. It also protects the arch from the impact the foot experiences while running.
The XTRM2’s redesigned outsole pattern offers optimal grip on various surfaces. Special rubber provides phenomenal adhesion on hard and wet surfaces, while the 6mm lugs provide excellent traction on softer terrain. The rock plate integrated into the midsole protects against sharp rocks and sticks and makes the shoe torsionally stiff.
