Description

Sturdy, warm, and protective during long walks. This sock feels distinctly fuller than lightweight hiking socks and provides great comfort in higher hiking shoes or sturdy boots. As a result, your feet remain calmer during long days on rough terrain.

Strong when the load is high. During long descents, wet conditions, or hikes with a heavy backpack, you will notice that the extra cushioning under the foot absorbs hard impact better. The sock also feels protective around the instep and Achilles without chafing easily.

Suitable for mountain trails and multi-day treks. On rocky trails, muddy routes, and cooler hikes, the merino wool helps regulate temperature and moisture effectively. Additionally, the higher fit protects against shoe pressure points and external dirt.

In July 2019, I bought 2 pairs of Darn Tough hiker socks here, and when I realized I wanted some extra socks for the winter, they absolutely had to be Darn Tough socks. I noticed there wasn't a review for these socks yet, so here it is! I wear them as much as possible during the winter, and as soon as they've been washed (which doesn't necessarily have to be after just one day, as they don't start to smell), I put them on again immediately. They are warm, don't itch, and are incredibly durable—even after 4 years, they are still in great condition. You can see that the heel and toes are wearing down slightly, but those specific areas are reinforced (you are nowhere near being able to see through them yet), so I expect them to last at least another 4 years. That makes them absolutely worth the high price. This makes giving socks as a gift fun again.
