First, a bit of general advice. For socks and non-compression products: choose your normal size.

For compression products: If you're between two sizes, always choose the larger size. Don't worry! You'll still benefit from the compression. Your muscles swell during exercise, and your size should allow for a certain margin to prevent a tourniquet effect and thus restricting blood flow.

Description

This sock feels soft, warm, and snug. The blend of merino wool and silk keeps your feet warm without causing them to overheat. There is light support around the instep and heel to prevent the sock from twisting inside your shoe.

It performs best on cold days when you keep moving. Think of a winter endurance run along the Amstel, an evening training session in the dark, or a cold morning in the Amsterdam Forest. After an hour in the cold, you will notice the difference: your feet stay warm and dry because sweat is quickly wicked away and the sock does not become wet and clammy. The light compression also keeps your feet warm when the temperature is close to freezing.

If in doubt, consider where you run. The sock is lower and more breathable than the trail version, so in mud, snow, or rough terrain, dirt or moisture will reach your ankle more quickly. If it is very wet, you will also lose heat. If you mainly run on the road in winter and get cold feet easily, this is a good choice.

In short: a warm, breathable winter sock for cold road runs.
